STEP 1: DETERMINE TOTAL GUESTS EXPECTED AT YOUR EVENT
STEP 2: DETERMINE WHAT TYPE OF EVENT
Stand Up Cocktail Style: 6 sq.ft per person
Cocktail Style w/ some seating: 8 sq.ft per person
Seated in Rows, Theater Style: 8 sq.ft per person
Seated Dinner @ 8' Banquets: 10 sq.ft per person
Seated Dinner @ 5' Rounds: 12 sq.ft per person
STEP 3: CONSIDER ADDITIONAL STATIONS:
Dance Floor* 5 sq.ft per person
Musicians/Band 3 piece: 100 sq.ft
Musicians/Band 5 piece: 250 sq.ft
Musicians/Band 7 piece: 300 sq.ft
DJ Table w speakers: 200 sq.ft
Food Buffet Lines: 100 sq.ft per 50 guests
Beverage Service / Bar:100 sq.ft
Gift Table w/ Guestbook: 50 sq.ft
*Generally, never more than 50% of the people dance at any time. Each couple requires about nine square feet. If you have a party for 200 people (100 couples), 50 couples will be the maximum number dancing.
STEP 4: ADD ALL SQUARE FOOTAGES FROM ABOVE STEPS TO DETERMINE TOTAL SQUARE FEET NEEDED
Standard Tent Sizes and Square Footage. (Multipy sides to determine square footage.)
10x20' =200 sq.ft.
20x20 = 400 sq.ft.
20x30' = 600 sq.ft.
20x40' = 800 sq.ft
20x60' = 1200 sq.ft.
40x40' = 1600 sq.ft
